“Reducer (acoustic)” captures one of Howlite's strongest offerings, and swaps the glossy atmospheric soundscape of the original for something much simpler. The ethereal indie-pop sound remains, but takes a back seat to the emotional tones of Alison Thom's vocals.
lyrics
Listen for your presence, pull me closer - ear to chest
Inside all your insides, feel the pace slow, feel the rest
Heartbeat is a rhythm, like a drum keeps time's division
Into fragments I can manage, there's a comfort in your sound
Reducer, I keep you closer
Safety blanket, I breathe you in
Reducer, I'm under cover
Make me feel better, under your skin
Sage smudge through the hallways, old pianos pluck their keys
Breathe through our vibrations, lungs awaken, sing to me
Reducer, I keep you closer
Safety blanket, I breathe you in
Reducer, I'm under cover
Make me feel better, under your skin
How deep is your sadness?
How deep is the sea?
When my sea is the sadness, will you swim with me?
Reducer, I keep you closer
Safety blanket, I breathe you in
Reducer, I'm under cover
Make me feel better, under your skin
